Bill Burroughs typed stories on paper and then cut the paper into squares and arranged the squares into new words and new stories.

Interesting.

Even though we type stories on screens, we can still cut them up — no scissors required. Here’s a cutup of today’s recommended reading, compliments of C & V.

Her boss may not believe she was shot. She’d lied before. “I find it interesting that you chose Henry Ford. The masculinity of the film was … overwhelming. It was interesting. Obviously the car as the ultimate phallus driving down as many roads as possible.” The neighbors were loud, but the tangled green muffled the sound, so we felt but did not hear everyone. We ate lentils and French fries. She looked at the ads in the windows of Victoria’s Secret, then strode in, past the stony-faced large black guard, over to the drawers of 36B’s. She found a black lace bra and tried it on, admiring the way her fuller breasts suddenly blossomed into cleavage.

Black smoke burping from the back of a pickup. An orange cat on the tail a white rabbit. Silver rain cutting through the green woods. Yesterday my sneakers were yellow. Today they are mud brownies.
