Thursday's Flurry of Words
By Drew Geer
We mourn the death of the Boss this week. Say what you will, but we believe he was an excellent owner. He was psychologically complex, even though he talked about it all of the time. In this vein, The New Criterion tries to understand Christopher Hitchens, but they are NOT reviewing his memoir. Robert Birnbaum ruminates on books – getting right to our fundamental mission here. Matisse is taking a spell at MoMA, what better time to think about Henri’s work. Tom Waits is big in Japan. Bullfighting is big in Spain. Yoga is big in America. Let’s get analytical. — Andrew Geer
